Welcome to a new school year at Rockbridge Elementary – A DeKalb County School that is making a difference! I am extremely proud to be the principal of a school that truly believes that teaching and learning are the top priorities of our students, staff and parents.

Rockbridge Elementary School has a wonderful reputation of students, teachers and parents working together to help students move from good to great! I believe it is critical that we all work together to create a caring and collaborative environment that helps our students achieve to the best of their abilities. I hope you will actively participate in the school community through membership in the PTA and volunteering in your child's classroom. Mr. Stanley Gaddis
 Assistant Principal 
Pre-K - 2nd Grade 
 

Mr. Stanley Gaddis is the proud Assistant Principal at Rockbridge Elementary School. He grew up in Alabama and was educated in the Etowah county School System. He attended Xavier University in New Orleans where he received his Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS) with a minor degree in business, and earned his Master’s degree in Math Education (MAT Mathematics). Mr. Gaddis earned his Tier 1 administrator’s certificate from the University of West Georgia and is currently completing a duel Tier II certificate, combined with a specialist in Educational leadership (Ed. S). Mr. Gaddis will continue his education as he pursues his doctorate in the upcoming years. He is committed to educating youth and sharing his passion as a lifelong learner with the students and staff that he encounters as he journeys through his educational career.

Prior to his appointment as Assistant Principal Rockbridge Elementary School, Mr. Gaddis served as an in-class teacher; a mathematics coach; a mathematics consultant; an Assistant Principal; and is currently in his 34th year in the education arena.

Greetings,

I am Dr. Jamar Marks and it is a great pleasure to serve as Assistant Principal for grades 3rd through 5th at Rockbridge Elementary. I am truly excited about serving in a school that strives to achieve educational greatness. I have proudly served schools and communities in urban, metropolitan school districts during my career which include Detroit Public Schools, and Metro Nashville Public Schools. I have been celebrated as an education professional with several awarded distinctions including the 2018-2019 Education Support Professional of the Year II (Leadership) and the Georgia Department of Education Merit Pay Award. My professional studies include having earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in 2006, and Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2009. My studies culminated with having earned an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership in 2012, followed by my Doctor of Education degree in 2017.  

I promise to be a champion for ALL students at Rockbridge Elementary as we prepare them to become active, successful, and responsible citizens in our society. As always, I truly appreciate your support!
